more.
First found in Thomond, where they were anciently seated as Chiefs of their
sept.This family name was found later in Dublin and other large cities.
Some of the first settlers of this family name or some of its variants were: Ann
Crowe, who came to Maryland in 1666; Benj Crowe, who settled in Barbados in
1685; William McEncroe, who settled in South Carolina in 1823; John McEncroe,
who settled in Charles Town <Actinic:Variable Name = 'Charleston'/>, South Carolina in 1828.
